LA DIVERSIFICAZIONE DELLE ATTIVITÀ DI PESCA NEL BASSO IONIO

The challenges that fisheries sector in Europe is currently having require a series of measures to stimulate and improve the living conditions of the fishermen and the communities that depend on fishing. Recently, the diversification of fishing activities, was placed at the center of European and national policies in an attempt to ensure that entrepreneurs fish an integration of income and allow the continuation of their activities in a sustainable manner by encouraging young entrepreneurs to invest in the fisheries sector. The objective of this work is to analyze the diversification of fisheries as a source of income support from the principal. The study area falls in the basin of the Ionian Sea from Taormina (ME) in the North to get to Portopalo (SR) in the South The diversification activities in the area are hampered by the presence of specific constraints that are holding back development. Through the analysis of alternatives to the hierarchical model Analytic Hierachy Process (AHP) has been established a ranking of the obstacles which have a greater impact on the adoption of diversification activities.

Le sfide che il settore della pesca in Europa attualmente fronteggia necessitano di una serie di misure finalizzate ad incentivare e migliorare le condizioni di vita dei pescatori, nonché delle comunità che vivono di pesca. Recentemente la diversificazione delle attività alieutiche, è stata posta al centro delle politiche europee e nazionali, nel tentativo di garantire agli imprenditori ittici un integrazione di reddito e consentire il prosieguo delle loro attività in modo sostenibile incentivando i giovani imprenditori ad investire nel settore pesca. Obiettivo del presente lavoro è quello di analizzare la diversificazione delle attività alieutiche in quanto fonte di integrazione al reddito dell attività principale. L area di studio, ricade nel bacino del Mar Ionio da Giardini Naxos (ME) a Nord, fino ad arrivare a Portopalo (SR) a Sud. La attività di diversificazione presenti nell area sono ostacolate dalla presenza di specifici vincoli che ne ritardano lo sviluppo. Attraverso l analisi gerarchica delle alternative possibili con il modello Analytic Hierachy Process (AHP) è stato stilato un ranking degli ostacoli che influiscono maggiormente sull adozione delle attività di diversificazione.
