Rural Architecture (RA), created to adapt the environment to agricultural activities, is a significant expression of local history and culture. However, rural architectural language is often simplified and associated with crude forms, neglecting its functional and aesthetic evolution over time. Technological evolution on the one hand, and deep-rooted changes in our modus vivendi on the other, have led to a gradual abandonment of such artefacts. Sicily has a vast heritage of ARs that today are in a state of complete abandonment. It is therefore essential to understand the documentary and cultural value of such architectures so that they can be protected and enhanced. This approach not only preserves the historical heritage but also contributes to the socio-economic and landscape revitalization of rural areas. In the present study, after investigating the issue of farms and possible intervention strategies, the case of the re-functionalization of a farmhouse in Pachino (SR) is presented.

Abstract
In the present study, after investigating the issue of farms and possible intervention strategies, the case of the re-functionalization of a farmhouse in Pachino (SR) is presented.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
