This paper reports the results of a preliminary investigation on the radiation properties of thinned planar arrays derived from difference sets (DSs) whose elements are displaced on an arbitrary non-rectangular lattice. The array factor periodicity of this kind of DS-based arrays is analyzed showing the positions of the major lobes and of the predicted pattern samples, taking advantage from the known autocorrelation properties of the analytic sequences and their relationship with the array power pattern.

Abstract

This paper reports the results of a preliminary investigation on the radiation properties of thinned planar arrays derived from difference sets (DSs) whose elements are displaced on an arbitrary non-rectangular lattice. The array factor periodicity of this kind of DS-based arrays is analyzed showing the positions of the major lobes and of the predicted pattern samples, taking advantage from the known autocorrelation properties of the analytic sequences and their relationship with the array power pattern.
