Two years after the publication of the first Italian edition (Gli Epigrammata Bobiensia nel carteggio fra Augusto Campana e Franco Munari [1952-1956] 2024), this new English edition of the correspondence between Augusto Campana and Franco Munari on the Epigrammata Bobiensia (1952-1956) – with Introduction and Notes in English and the original texts in Italian – responds to a precise scholarly aim: to facilitate the international community’s access to Italian research on the Epigrammata Bobiensia. The obstacle thus far has not been primarily linguistic, but rather documentary: much of the decisive scholarship concerning the textual history of the Bobbio Sylloge remains embedded in Italian archival descriptions, national editorial series, and locally circulating studies. The present volume therefore seeks to give broader diffusion to a core of hitherto unpublished documents: twenty-two letters and eleven postcards exchanged between Campana and Munari, together with the typescript of Munari’s first draft of the editio princeps, datable to September 1954.
