This work presents a fiber-section model specifically designed for the seismic analysis of ductile reinforced concrete columns with ribbed bars. Developed using OpenSees software, the model is calibrated against uniaxial-bending experimental test results. It includes specific material models to accurately capture the behaviour of cover concrete, core concrete, and steel rebars. The approach incorporates an established modelling strategy to represent strain penetration effects, while correction coefficients are introduced to account for the additional confinement at member ends provided by adjoining structural elements, such as foundations. Additionally, fracture phenomena in longitudinal rebars are addressed using established formulations. The model is suitable for nonlinear static and dynamic seismic analyses of reinforced concrete structures.
