In this paper a morphological engine for the Italian language is described. It is developed in C++ and has three components: a word-list that contains a set of entry words and each entry word is associated to a grammatical category with information about the part of speech of the entry word and its way of creating inflections; a morphological generator that allows generating inflected forms from an entry word; a morphological analyzer that associates a word to the possible entry word from which it originates, specifying characteristics of inflection of a word.
