Abstract
The paper traces the construction history of the former church of St Catherine of Siena al Rosario after war damage. By comparing the existing building and archive documents, it identifies the original parts of the church transformed into a residential building in the 1950s. Traditional building techniques are combined with reinforced concrete structures in a hybrid result, which can be defined as a ‘contextualised’ modern architecture: a historical fake that has rewritten the architectural text.File in questo prodotto:
