The Geant4 Simulation Toolkit provides an ample set of complementary and alternative physics models for both electromagnetic and hadronic processes, describing the interaction of particles with matter. We present a short overview of the actual state of the physics models provided by Geant4 and the results of a series of detailed tests for the quantitative validation of the electromagnetic processes. The Geant4-based test results are compared to protocol references commonly adopted in the medical physics domain (NIST and ICRU).

Abstract
The Geant4 Simulation Toolkit provides an ample set of complementary and alternative physics models for both electromagnetic and hadronic processes, describing the interaction of particles with matter. We present a short overview of the actual state of the physics models provided by Geant4 and the results of a series of detailed tests for the quantitative validation of the electromagnetic processes. The Geant4-based test results are compared to protocol references commonly adopted in the medical physics domain (NIST and ICRU).File in questo prodotto:
