Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to examine the environmental impact of the tourism service provided by an accomodation in the province of Catania through the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology. In addition to providing an overview of the overall impact of the service, LCA enables the identification of critical points in the business and the exploration of possible corrective actions in terms of sustainability. This type of environmental accounting analysis allows the entire life cycle of a service to be explored from its initial stages of resource use, and thus provides a comprehensive view of all impacts associated with the hotel's activities..
