The tail of the petroleum refinig consistof heavy hydrocarbons, asphaltenes, the use of wich today is possible ad advantageous by means of a gassification process with sybgas production. This can be used in various ways, for example by feeding a power plant in combined cycle. The operation of the gasifier has a certain complexity due to chemical kinetcs of the asphaltenes and the distributions of temperatures within the reactor. A careful study of the injection nozzles and the so-called escape route avoids breakage in the reactor wall and innner insulating.
