Agia Triada is characterized as a key site for the presence of nineteen copper ox-hide ingots and a considerable number of bronze artefacts. Review and contextual and functional analysis of them have brought to light certain aspects related to the manufacturing activity of bronze that allow us to begin defining the role this would have played in the Neopalatial settlement. This article aims to investigate the spatial distribution of metal finds, the relationship between their discovery contexts and functional aspects, and that between the metal in circulation, stored or intended to be recycled, focusing on the ambiguous evidence for some kinds of metallurgical activities devoted to production and transformation.

Abstract
Agia Triada is characterized as a key site for the presence of nineteen copper ox-hide ingots and a considerable number of bronze artefacts. Review and contextual and functional analysis of them have brought to light certain aspects related to the manufacturing activity of bronze that allow us to begin defining the role this would have played in the Neopalatial settlement. This article aims to investigate the spatial distribution of metal finds, the relationship between their discovery contexts and functional aspects, and that between the metal in circulation, stored or intended to be recycled, focusing on the ambiguous evidence for some kinds of metallurgical activities devoted to production and transformation.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
