Meso-tetra(methyloctaethyl)calix pyrrole was synthesized and fully characterized. Thin films of 1 were deposited onto quartz substrates by Langmuir-Schafer (LS) method. Preliminary sensing tests performed by using Induced CD have shown that, although not chiral by themselves, such films exhibit induced chirality due to reversible binding with chiral alc. vapors.

Abstract
