ARETUSA is a new Advanced Research Equipment for fasT ULtraweak lumineScence Analysis developed at LNS-INFN. The set-up allows to perform accurate and reliable photoluminescence measurements with excitation wavelength ranging in the 337 - 700 nm wavelength band and the emission wavelength in the range from 400-800 nm. A single photon count photomultiplier enables the measurement of a very low level Delayed Luminescence. Respect to the traditional set-up, this new equipment is able to perform measurements starting a few microseconds after the laser irradiation is switched off and with a large detection efficiency (about 10% of total solid angle). The adopted design assures moreover a low level background noise.
