In this paper we present a survey on some ring constructions, recentlyintroduced and studied, and we show how to produce some analogous semigroupconstructions. Moreover, we describe how to translate at semigroup level some ringproperties of these constructions; in particular, we will focus on the Gorenstein property and to its semigroup counterpart, the symmetry.
