Sicily is the most important wine-producing region of Italy with investments of approximately 112 thousand hectares, representing 16.5 % of the total area under vines at national level. The research is aimed at achieving the precise analysis of the winegrowing mountain in those provinces in which assumes a certain role and the relationship between vine-growing and sustainable development of the territory, in terms of social, economic and cultural-historical and the initiatives of support to the economy and to the development of wine-growing in the mountains in regional framework put in place by public and private decision makers. The first results show significant signs of renewal comparable to the best wine of excellence.
