Abstract
Cities evolve over time, building materials, elements and forms become layered, hidden, confused, sometimes ambiguous signs; only careful study can identify and interpret these signs, to locate them within the mass of information inherited from the past and elaborate an interpretation of the urban space, however partial and temporary, in attempt to de-codify its "venustas", specifying those characteristics that become reference points for any sort of study. The identification of these characteristics and the understanding of their evolution are necessary for any intervention, especially today when new ways of intervening in historic centres are developing, where the difficulty of inserting the New into the Old remains, along with problems of coordinating professional figures called on to intervene on historic buildings.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
