Monitoring and control are of primary importance for electrical power systems optimal management. This problem is more and more relevant at all levels of public electrical distribution and in industrial automation. The high reliability level reached by wireless transmission allows to take into account the possibility of using this technology in the field of electrical systems management. The present paper aims at describing the possible application of DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunication) technology, so far essentially employed in telephone communications, to electrical systems automation. Since, at present, the only DECT device that can be adapted to such an application is DECT Siemens Engine MD32, this device has been used in the present study. The technological limitation related to signal distance range has been overcome developing an appropriate control software. To show the application of the proposed solution to a practical control problem, the paper presents the implementation of a distributed control on a street public lighting plant.

Abstract
To show the application of the proposed solution to a practical control problem, the paper presents the implementation of a distributed control on a street public lighting plant.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
