Sod-seeding of durum wheat: initial results of a long-term experiment

This research sets out to verify, the feasibility of sod-seeding: under ordinary conditions, typical of our environment, comparing two techniques, a traditional one based on tillage and another "conservational" one based on no-tillage. With reference to this first year one the reduction in production of wheat in the "sod" thesis did not move above 7% compared to the production obtained from the "tilled" thesis. The differences obtained from the point of view of costs, appear to be insignificant, while the "sod" thesis can deduce an advantage in terms of timeliness and reduction in consumption.
