Article 6 of the Habitat Directive (92/43/CEE) sets out that sites of the Nature Network 2000 are provided with adequate Management Planning (MPs) to satisfy ecological requirements. To draft such planning reference should be made to national and regional guidelines based on EU directives recognising that knowledge about and any interventions in those sites are not only aimed at biological aspects but also at the relative landscape components. The guidelines state that the landscape must be ‘considered as a synthesis of physical, biological, historical and cultural characteristics and values’ (Environment & Territorial Protection Ministry guidelines, 2002). This work outlines a method based on visual and cognitive analyses to support the recognition of landscape within the management of the Nature Network 2000 sites.

Abstract
This work outlines a method based on visual and cognitive analyses to support the recognition of landscape within the management of the Nature Network 2000 sites.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
