Building design innovation for the sheep and goat breeding in the protected areas of Sicily

The present study aims at finding suitable building solutions for sheep and goat breeding within the Park of the Nebrodis (situated in North-Eastern Sicily, the largest Italian island), or within protected areas having characteristics homogeneous to the Park. A sample of farms was studied to understand the specific demands of breeding. The data collected supports a set of useful guidelines for the organizational schemes and metadesign proposals for specific building solutions with low environmental impact.
