In this paper a theoretical-experimental research is proposed on the problem which more influences the precision surveying of road axes: the uncertainty about the vehicle position as regards the axis, which lowers the instrumental and methodological precision. An experimental approach based on GPS and contemporary images acquisition of road signs has been carried out with the aim of defining the axis geometry in terms of straights, progressive and circular curves.

Abstract
