Gastronomy, born from the simple human need to feed ourselves, has evolved to the state of indisputable art over time. Together with the idea of hospitality, the culinary art has always represented an insight into the culture of the people it belongs to and the region visited. One of the attractive segments of the regional intangible cultural heritage is the one comprising the local culinary art. The proposed work, which is the result of an interdisciplinary collaboration between Romanian and Italian researcher, highlights to the potentiality of the food specially gastronomy in Sibiu county and Sicily. Gastronomy or food tourism offers opportunities to the communities to connect tourism with the local food networks, responding at the same time to the specific needs of tourists.
