Through the evidence of Gregory the Great’s Registrum epistularum, the paper investigates the problems of the female world of Sardinia in the sixth century. The pope entertained an intense exchange of letters with Sardinian women who demonstrate great initiative and a strong personality and he was ready to support the realization of their projects, but also to report their mistakes.

Attraverso la testimonianza del Registrum epistularum di Gregorio Magno, lo studio indaga le problematiche del mondo femminile della Sardegna nel secolo VI. Il pontefice, infatti, intrattenne un fitto scambio epistolare con donne isolane che dimostrano una grande intraprendenza e una forte personalità e fu pronto a sostenere la realizzazione dei loro progetti, ma anche a denunciare i loro errori.
