Abstract

A model of a new class of polymeric sensors known as ionic polymer-polymer composite (IP2C) has been developed. Starting from a previous model, new investigations have been performed in order to improve the sensor model. More specifically, the sensor model has been investigated in a suitable range of working frequencies, by using an ad-hoc realized setup. Moreover the Young's modulus value of IP2Cs has been measured by means of the dynamic mechanical analysis and results have been used in the identification of the IP2C sensor model. Experimental evidence of the suitability of the proposed model is given in the paper
