Re-use of waste products of the Citrus industry for Nutraceutical formulations with enhancement of dissolution rate and oral bioavailability

Citrus fruits are principally consumed by humans as fresh fruit or processed juice, either fresh chilled or concentrated. After juice axtraction from the fruit, remains a residue called " pastazzo" comprised of peel (flavedo and albedo), pulp (juice sac residue), rag (membranes and coes)and seeds.Every year amount of 600-650 tons of "pastazzo" werw product in Sicily, creating a series of issues related to the cost of the production process and disposition of this residual materials.
