Many papers have been written on the thermoelastic effect on composites, but they are generally concerned with dynamic loading. The present work deals with the application of thermoelastic techniques on a lorry bumper of SMC material under static loads. The first results are shown and a comparison with other measurement techniques (X-Ray imagery, deformation analysis) is made.
