The maintenance of the building as conceived today is the result of an historical evolution that begins in prehistoric times. Its development has also been conceptual and cultural: from corrective, in fact, the maintenance became preventive and, with the use of more advanced technologies, predictive. The knowledge of the development of maintenance actions is of great interest for the study of the history of engineering and for the resolution of the current problems in this area; today's proceedings appear indeed limited and this is due to the implementation of plans based only on disjointed graphic and alphanumeric information, often not compatible. This is partly due to the lack of cooperation of the parties, that operate independently with the software that best suits their needs, and to the execution of projects which, made in different moments, have many gaps and inconsistencies which impact on each phase. The solution to this issue should be the use of a single software and a coherent set of parameters designed to achieve an efficient realization of maintenance cards.
