The present invention relates to a beam monitoring device characterized by high spatial resolution (about 100 µm) and large detection area (even more than 30 x 30 cm2 ) thus being suitable for any medical applications. The device is also capable of providing real-time qualification of a beam of charged particles in conditions of high fluence such as hadrontherapy conditions (1010 particles/spill).

Abstract
