The chapter aims at analysing how, in the current phase of world politics, changes in security and conflicts are affecting NGOs’ performances. It consists of three parts. Firstly, a discussion on the state of the art is presented, focused on the changes in the nature of crises, and in crisis management. Secondly, an analysis of NGOs and their performances in and adaptation to conflict zones is offered. Finally, the theoretical reflections on security are used to highlight the most important challenges NGOs should face in the field. Lastly, some preliminary conclusions are summed up, to launch future research perspectives.
