In her book on the beginning of Aegean archaeology, Iris Tzachili has analyzed not only the historical context of the first investigations in Therasia and Thera, but also their epistemological background. Starting from these premises, the article analyzes the reception of Theran discoveries in archaeological literature in Italy.
