Abstract

During an interview with John Forester and Daniela De Leo, in an autobiographical effort, I describe what I call "the mood for learning". It is something that one must have, but it can be facilitated, and it can be stimulated if you provide the right material in terms of documents, devices and tools. Referring to the community mapping initiative in the Simeto Valley (Sicily, IT), I described how working with maps has been an empowering process for the local associations involved.
