La parola che risana. Gorgia, logica e tolleranza

In the literature on the philosophical reflection of Gorgias remains still in the dark the determination of the relationship between the Περὶ τοῦ μὴ ὂντος and the epidiptical writings, in which the rhetorical art of the Lentinian is manifested.In this contribution we try to show how the predominantly logical-argumentative discourse presented in the Περὶ τοῦ μὴ ὂντος is not disconnected from the positive and constructive function of rhetoric that emerges from the epidemic writings of the Gorgian production, but rather is functional to it because only on its basis you can reach a human coexistence not repressive and characterized by tolerance and mutual willingness to dialogue.

Nella letteratura sulla riflessione filosofica di Gorgia resta ancora in chiaroscuro la determinazione della relazione tra il Περὶ τοῦ μὴ ὂντος e gli scritti epidittici, nei quali si manifesta l’arte retorica del lentinese. In questo contributo si cerca di far vedere come il discorso prevalentemente logico-argomentativo presentato nel Περὶ τοῦ μὴ ὂντος non sia scollegato dalla funzione positiva e costruttiva della retorica che emerge dagli scritti epidittici della produzione gorgiana, ma anzi sia ad essa funzionale in quanto solo sulla sua base si può pervenire a una convivenza umana non repressiva e caratterizzata dalla tolleranza e dalla reciproca volontà dialogante.
