El engaño, un “instrumento” narrativo en las Historias del primer milenio de Raúl Glaber

Rodulfus Glaber gives an important space to the theme of deception in his Histories. It is a very important literary topos recurring to clarify to readers the dangers of sin. There are numerous episodes narrated by Rodulfus Glaber that give account of deceptions, subterfuges and lies. We will see that they served as warnings, useful narrative tools, ultimately a "healthy opportunity to correct" and escape the sin that, as Rodulfus Glaber declares, deteriorated society in the early 11th century.
