Per la rappresentazione delle polirematiche: selezione argomentale predefinita, referenzialità, endo- vs. esocentricità

In this paper it is proposed that polyrhematics result from projections in which one or more elements are specified by a [+Predefined] feature, with consequences both on the syntax and the semantics of the entire projected phrase. It is further proposed that other features determine the different characteristics of the polyrhematics (e.g. any constraints on constituent movement). Particular bundles may be associated with selective loss of meaning or change of meaning affecting one or more of the internal polyrhematic’s constituents. In this way, no specific rules are postulated for the derivation and interpretation of polyrhematics by syntax and semantics, which therefore generate and interpret the polyrhematics by processing the features extracted from the lexicon, i.e. following the same mechanisms that also characterize the treatment of nonpolyrhematic phrases. Polyrhematicity is thus analyzed as a particular manifestation of the complex of constraints on the projection of phrases imposed by the lexical properties of the heads (such as the specification of the syntactic form, optionality or semantic restrictions).

La generazione delle polirematiche può essere ricondotta ad una proiezione sintagmatica in cui uno o più elementi sono specificati da un tratto [+Predef.], con conseguenze sulla sintassi e la semantica dell’intero sintagma proiettato. Altri tratti determinano le diverse caratteristiche delle polirematiche (ad es. eventuali limitazioni al movimento dei costituenti). Particolari configurazioni di tratti possano associarsi alla desemantizzazione o risemantizzazione selettiva di taluni costituenti interni alla polirematica. In tal modo, non vengono postulate regole specifiche per la derivazione e l’interpretazione delle polirematiche in sintassi e in semantica, che dunque generano e interpretano le polirematiche elaborando i tratti estratti dal lessico, seguendo cioè gli stessi meccanismi che caratterizzano anche il trattamento dei sintagmi non polirematici. La polirematicità è analizzata così come una particolare manifestazione del complesso di restrizioni alla proiezione di sintagmi imposta dalle proprietà lessicali delle teste (come la specificazione della forma sintattica, l’opzionalità o le restrizioni semantiche).
