The contribution offers a comparative reading path of the famous story of “Man and honey”, starting from its inclusion in the Byzantine versions of Barlaam and Josaphat and of Kalila and Dimna. Therefore its forms are observed in the Indian Mahābhārata, in the Italian iconographic translations, in the teachings of Tibetan Buddhism and Zen to finally reach an unprecedented combination with the film by the Iranian director Kiarostami, Ta'm e guilass. The journey of the story, between different literatures and languages, speaks of perspectives of the gaze, of ways of understanding salvation, of “wisdom of the end” and sense of life, of friendship.
