Abstract

The term flexible generation - reminiscent of Sennet’s work “The flexible man” - can be traced back to the emergence of at least two political generations, grown in the “Society of Risk” and characterized by necessity (more than intimate request) of flexibility, the main required resource in a complex society. The two italian sub-generations are defined - according to the way of managing the relationship with social and political life - as the Invisible Generation (young people during the Eighties) and the children of disenchantment (young people in the 2000th year). The essays collected in the book are transversal to these two conditions and, for this reason, represent well the requests, proposals, needs, and ethics of the Millennials
