Summary The wide category of organic materials containing polymers had a great impact on the last middle century, by changing definitively our lifestyle. We have used them for the most varied applications; thus, after the first structural ones the need of investigating their durability grew up, which can be fatal in the successful completion of the application for which polymers were designed. Over the last thirty years, the environmental problems related to the disposal of polymers that have completed their lifecycle have begun to arise, and the need to foresee their end of life has become increasingly urgent. In this chapter, after the description of the first attempts is carried out in this regard, the reliability of the lifetime predictions of polymeric materials is analyzed by taking into account the most relevant literature evidences.
