This chapter discuss in general terms the theoretical dimension and the “uses” of the concept of legal culture in the Social Sciences.Language, art, religion, but above all law constitute spheres of realization of the culture to which they belong. For this reason, the chapter proposes to consider nature and legal rules not only as instruments of symbolic mediation or communication to guarantee social order, but above all as a typical form of action and one of the main factors that constitute the process of reality construction. Moreover, in addition to focusing on the relationship between the concepts of culture and legal culture with respect to the cognitive orientation of the sociology of law, it specifies the terms of the renewed centrality that the concept of legal culture has assumed within the empirical research on single legal phenomena and comparative research.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
