The Historical Museum of the Carabinieri in Rome was born from a romantic ideology linked to the celebration of the great deeds carried out by the carabinieri. The Museum was strongly desired by Captain Vittorio Gorini, assisted by an Ordering Commission which collected documents and relics that exalted the history of the carabinieri. The location chosen to host the Museum was located in Piazza Risorgimento, where an entire building was used as the seat of the Museum. The building was restored by the military engineers, according to a project by the Roman architect Scipione Tadolini (1897-1977). The first exhibition route developed through ten rooms distributed in a ring between the mezzanine and the first floor.
