The aim of this study is to analyze the lexicon used by the author Ibn Dāniyāl in his play al-Mutayyam referred to the semantic field of love and to describe the event associated with the lemma. Moreover, we try to expand the analysis to the situations that triggered the love reactions, to the description of the emotions and to the physical elements connected to them, as well as the consequent actions of the characters. Linked to a wider project which involves many different cultures in the Mediterranean area during a broad chronological scope, this research tries to add a small piece of the mosaic about the erotic language in the Arabic literary tradition.
