The paper analyzes the complexity and plurivocity of ancient Gnosticism by showing the persistence of deep Gnostic roots in some of significant expressions of contemporary philosophy and art: from Leopardi to Cioran, from Heidegger to Kubrick. Gnosis emerges there as one of the most fruitful perspectives for understanding human life, history and time.
