The processes of interna onaliza on, which by now have become an integral part of university life, have also encouraged academics in the humani es in Italy to take up new challenges, including those in the field of foreign language teaching. Although the didac c principle concerning the authen city of students“ experience is not being called into ques on, its concrete realiza on o en appears as a problema c one. Whereas, on one hand, the adop on of real-life textual excerpts – easily available thanks to the web – has almost become an obvi- ous prac ce for both teaching and learning techniques, on the other hand it is not always easy to concretely encompass authen city within the same learning environment. On the light of this, the German-Italian student exchange project represents an a empt to effec vely actualize both interna onaliza on processes as well as intercultural encounters within the sphere of foreign language teaching at university level.
