Abstract

Paper wants to show performances of new computer code based on Navier-Stokes equations, that is able to predict spatial flow-dynamic pollution of heavy gases coming from continuous or 'single event' source in function of running time. Starting from gases physical - chemical characteristics code takes in account both presence of obstacles and climate parameters so that is possible to know polluting concentration levels in each point of investigated area running the time. Starting both from mono and bi-dimensions code created by Ispra-CCR and NCSR 'DEMOKRITOS', the Applied Physics Institute of Catania Engineering Faculty is lined-up basic code with experimental tests at AGIP-Gela petrochemical-works by means of following procedure: heavy gas controlled discharge in atmosphere; continuous measurement of heavy gas concentration levels in twelve points of investigated area during polluting emission time comparison between measured data and computer code predicted data. Portable meteorological station assures meteorological date knowledge existing in area during measure time and these data will be putted simultaneously with chemical-physical gas characteristic in computer code simulation. Finally paper wants to show obtained experimental results and analysis of registered data.
