As is well known, materials play an important role practically in each technologic field such as medical, electrical and electronic, engineering, transport, sensors, computing, food, and packaging fields, and so on. To satisfy every demand and make our lives even more comfortable, materials with improved properties are always under study. To originate novel materials with improved behavior, it is necessary, if not strictly necessary, to well comprehend the connection between structure and prop- erties. These properties could be customized by combining two or more materials to reach the desired prerequisites (Mittal et al., 2015; Pereda et al., 2018; Shankar and Rhim, 2016; Vasile, 2018; Youssef, 2013), taking into consideration always the environmental concerns. The actual tendency is versus biodegradable and/or biobased materials obtained from scraps. Among them, polymers, more generally called plastics, play a key role because they are the most desired and used materials thanks to their great features such as lightness, inexpensiveness, easy processability, good thermal and me- chanical properties, good barrier behavior, and so on. All these properties could be well modified by working on the chemical structure of the starting molecules (monomers) and final molecular weight, influencing in particular their bio-performances.

Abstract
All these properties could be well modified by working on the chemical structure of the starting molecules (monomers) and final molecular weight, influencing in particular their bio-performances.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
