Pastoralism is a practice that has created specific landscapes over time, through the transformation of the land and the development of tangible and intangible heritage. Pastoral cultural landscapes are therefore not only configured as physical places but as knowledge landscapes resulting from the acquisition and transmission of knowledge deeply linked to the environment of a community in a given territory. The objective of the present work is to reconstruct the patterns of human-environment relationship of the community that frequented the Calicantone Hut in the Early Bronze Age (ca 2200-1450 B.C.) through the investigation of animal resource management strategies. Thanks to the archaeozoological study, it was possible to characterize the pastoral forms practiced in the area and add information on the seasonal patterns of frequentation of the area in order to to reconstruct a knowledge landscape also for Calicantone that adds more depth to the definition of cultural landscape and helps us to reconstruct with more precision the awareness of the landscape that our ancestor had and the use they made of it.

Abstract
Pastoralism is a practice that has created specific landscapes over time, through the transformation of the land and the development of tangible and intangible heritage. Pastoral cultural landscapes are therefore not only configured as physical places but as knowledge landscapes resulting from the acquisition and transmission of knowledge deeply linked to the environment of a community in a given territory. The objective of the present work is to reconstruct the patterns of human-environment relationship of the community that frequented the Calicantone Hut in the Early Bronze Age (ca 2200-1450 B.C.) through the investigation of animal resource management strategies. Thanks to the archaeozoological study, it was possible to characterize the pastoral forms practiced in the area and add information on the seasonal patterns of frequentation of the area in order to to reconstruct a knowledge landscape also for Calicantone that adds more depth to the definition of cultural landscape and helps us to reconstruct with more precision the awareness of the landscape that our ancestor had and the use they made of it.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
