In this article we intend to compare legal and musical interpretations, with particular reference to classical music and Jazz. The goal is to show that they are types of interpretation that have different methods and purposes. If in the musical field the interpretative originalism represents the standard hermeneutic theory, the same can not be said of the juridical sphere, in which originalism is just one of the possible interpretative theories.
