In this paper, I will provide commentary on some aspects of Warburg’s theories regarding the role of biological, physiological, and emotional factors present in the processes of art creation and reception, drawing upon recent neuroscientific theories. The purpose of referring to current theories and asserting the alignment of Warburg’s ideas with modern scientific perspectives is not to update or modernise his ideas. Instead, it serves to illustrate the scientific consistency of his knowledge and intuition regarding the mind-body system and its dynamics, particularly in relation to the perceptual and emotional aspects deeply intertwined with corporeality and motion.

Abstract
In this paper, I will provide commentary on some aspects of Warburg’s theories regarding the role of biological, physiological, and emotional factors present in the processes of art creation and reception, drawing upon recent neuroscientific theories. The purpose of referring to current theories and asserting the alignment of Warburg’s ideas with modern scientific perspectives is not to update or modernise his ideas. Instead, it serves to illustrate the scientific consistency of his knowledge and intuition regarding the mind-body system and its dynamics, particularly in relation to the perceptual and emotional aspects deeply intertwined with corporeality and motion.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
