Riflessioni e nuove prospettive di ricerca sul sistema economico e ambientale epirota

this contribution aims to present some forms of land organization and economic exploitation in ancient Epirus. Starting from a diachronic overview of population and economic resources of the Epirote landscape, the paper proposes a focus on some archaeological indicators useful to the reconstruction of Epirote ancient economy, whose studies still lack a systematic perspective on the entire region. Finally, some archaeozoological data from Phoinike and Butrint provide a preliminary environmental and economic framework related to cultural, residential and subsistence needs of local communities.
