The estimation of the residual capacity of concrete structures after the commencement of corrosion of steel reinforcement is becoming a goal for repair and rehabilitation work. This paper presents an analytical study about the residual structural capacity of a corrosion-affected RC frame due to strength deterioration and reduction of the cross-section of the reinforcing steel bars, taking the reinforcement layout and details into account. Many researchers have studied the effect of corrosion on the flexural behavior of reinforced concrete beams but this piece of work shows the way in which the corrosion levels affected the push-over response of a RC frame and the numerical results are deeply analyzed.

Abstract
The estimation of the residual capacity of concrete structures after the commencement of corrosion of steel reinforcement is becoming a goal for repair and rehabilitation work. This paper presents an analytical study about the residual structural capacity of a corrosion-affected RC frame due to strength deterioration and reduction of the cross-section of the reinforcing steel bars, taking the reinforcement layout and details into account. Many researchers have studied the effect of corrosion on the flexural behavior of reinforced concrete beams but this piece of work shows the way in which the corrosion levels affected the push-over response of a RC frame and the numerical results are deeply analyzed.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
