Linguistic, rhetorical and pragmatic responses in a parliamentary political discourse on immigration in Spain Abstract In this study, I propose to carry out an exhaustive analysis of a parliamentary speech delivered by the President of the spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, during his speech before the Congress of Representatives on 9 October 2024. The speech is centered on politics of the Government's immigration, with special emphasis in the criticism of the approval of Article 25 of the Organic Law of Foreign Affairs, of which different reforms that have modified their content and purpose have been raised over time. The last stories, in a more extensive review context, are expected to be approved in a short time. The objective of this analysis is rooted in examining the linguistic findings that arise in the strategic argumentative strategies implemented by the President, which cumulates with the aim of justifying the Government's posture in the face of this phenomenon. Special attention will be paid to the metaphors present in the speech, a rhetorical recourse used by the speaker with the aim of constructing an image that relates to the role that the speaker uses. If investigated in the use of mechanisms as polite or subtle as intensifying and coloquial, through which a collaborative image is projected.

Abstract
If investigated in the use of mechanisms as polite or subtle as intensifying and coloquial, through which a collaborative image is projected.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
